ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director – Indigenous Health, N’doo’owe’ Binesi, the Clinical Manager - Nanda Minoyaa - Indigenous Health Team is responsible for providing support to the coordination and delivery of culturally relevant and safe care within a clinical setting and providing clinical leadership to a team within Indigenous health services, by supervision of clinical and non-clinical staff, and ongoing program and service development that promotes Indigenous pathways to healing.  The Clinical Manager supports the development of team members by demonstrating leadership through role modeling, mentorship and coaching.  The Clinical Manager collaborates and partners with other teams and clinicians within SJCG program areas where Indigenous clients are served to enhance plans of care that include Indigenous culture and wise practices.            

The Clinical Manager - Nanda Minoyaa - Indigenous Health Team will play a key role in the ongoing development of a dynamic team that is Indigenous-led. The Nanda Minoyaa - Indigenous Health Team, will provide culturally safe client and family centered care for Indigenous clients and residents at SJCG. This specialized team will have strong knowledge of historical trauma and will understand its relationship to health outcomes today. The team will understand Indigenous culture and wholistic concepts of wellness, along with the social determinants of health affecting Indigenous Peoples.  The Clinical Manager will be familiar with traditional healing methods and ceremonies, and ensure clients receive service that is wholistic in a manner consistent with the Medicine Wheel philosophy.  

 

This temporary position is expected to remain in effect until August 2027, with the potential for extension.
