ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief/Medical Director of Long-Term Care, Hogarth Riverview Manor, the Attending Physician will direct and organize the medical services on the Cedar and Willow Grove units at Hogarth Riverview Manor as required by applicable legislation and hospital policies abiding by the LTCHA, including but not limited to the areas of medical service provision, administration and education.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Licensed to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
• Demonstrated experience working with a geriatric population
• Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations, legislation, programs and policies
• Care of the Elderly Certification (preferred) and knowledge of Dementia Care

 

Skills/Abilities:

• Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely and to provide / explain relevant information in response to inquiries or issues at a level appropriate to the audience
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships or partnerships with a diverse range of individuals
• Ability to work independently and/or as a contributing member of an interprofessional team to consistently meet program goals and address client needs
• Ability to develop partnerships and facilitate discussion relating to assessment, treatment, intervention strategies
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to provide consultation and direction to medical students and residents, physician assistant students, and clinical staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
• Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

 

Remuneration for this position is fee-for-service.
