Job Summary:
Clayton County Water Authority (CCWA)
The Human Resources Intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple HR functional areas, including Recruitment, Risk Management, Training & Development, HR Administration, Benefits, Compensation & Leave, and Safety Programs. This internship provides practical exposure to core HR operations while supporting critical administrative, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives..
The intern will provide critical support in several key areas, including:
Recruitment Support

Post job openings and assist with applicant tracking

Screen applications using established criteria

Coordinate and schedule interviews
-
Prepare interview packets and onboarding documentation
-
Maintain electronic filing systems (Revver)
-
Ensure accurate recordkeeping and document organization
Risk Management
-
Assist with submitting and tracking liability claims
-
Maintain claims tracking logs
-
Organize and manage claim documentation
-
Provide status updates as requested
Benefits, Compensation & Leave
-
Assist with post–open enrollment verifications
-
Enter benefit deductions in JDE
-
Participate in New Hire Orientation sessions
-
Assist with Lunch & Learn (L&L) sessions
-
Support preparation efforts for the Kaiser Permanente 5K event
Training & Development
-
Assist with training event logistics (food orders, room setup, materials)
-
Prepare and copy training workbooks and assessments
-
Send training reminder emails
-
Assist with grading exams during training sessions
-
Complete post-training administrative tasks and record updates
-
Submit ATSSA training record spreadsheets
-
Coordinate employee training portal updates
HR Analyst & Administrative Support
-
Assist with time verification processes
-
Enter requisitions and receive purchase orders
-
Review boot and uniform invoices
-
Enter OTOs for overages, vehicle tax, and gift card taxation
-
Maintain accurate documentation and financial tracking records
Safety Program Support
-
Assist with pre-training preparation (printing manuals, certification cards, CE certificates)
-
Support classroom setup and breakdown
-
Track safety team incentive requirements
-
Conduct monthly SPOT program drawings
-
Assist with June Safety Month tracking and weekly drawings
-
Support Safety Fair setup, attendee tracking, and prize drawings
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work:
Must be a recent high school graduate entering college, undergraduate or graduate student; no experience required but some work experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license or ID.
- Provide an official transcript with a minimum 2.8 GPA or a college acceptance letter
Physical Demands:
This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as light work involving lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
Work Environment:
Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
May be exposed to the outdoor elements if performing work in the field. May work evenings or weekends depending on assigned area.
