Description
We are hiring for a Maintenance Mechanic in North York, ON.
Job Duties:
- Performs installation, maintenance and repair activities on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic manufacturing equipment.
- Adjusts machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts and components.
- Dismantles and reassemble machines and carries out routine maintenance activities.
- Performs trouble shooting using standard test equipment, detailed drawings, sketches, specifications, manuals or verbal instructions.
- Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
- Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
- Maintain daily check list
- Perform other related duties as requested
Job Requirements:
- College diploma as an industrial mechanic or the equivalent in education, training, and/or experience.
- Preferably Licensed Millwright (433A), Red seal an asset.
- Knowledge of manufacturing process including CNC, brake press, welding, pneumatic applications, etc.
- Basic knowledge of PLC and automation.
- Forklift and AWP (scissor lift) license as an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Ontario electrical safety code, OHSA, TSSA, and WHMIS.
- Knowledge and understanding of general health and safety principles and work area hazards.
- Able to communicate (read and write) in English.
- Abide by OHSA regulations and company policy and procedures pertaining to Lock Out/Tag out, completing work orders, etc. Advise Management of actions taken.
