Service Technician - Agriculture
Job type: Full-time,Permanent. (Mon-Friday + on call)
We are looking to hire a Service Technician for our facility in Taber, AB and to service farms in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
We supply row crop farmers with the equipment and systems to plant, feed, protect, harvest, store, and process crops like potatoes, carrots, onions, beans, garlic, and other specialty crops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble equipment in shop and in the field
- Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, and perform routine maintenance of various farm machinery and equipment, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required.
- Maintain current knowledge of the company's competitive products
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Perform diagnosis and repair in the field as required
- Safely perform work both individually and with others
- Assist with other duties as required
Requirements:
- Parts and machinery knowledge, preferably of row crop equipment
- Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Self-motivated team player who can communicate effectively.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Effective attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driver abstract
- Forklift certificate
